Strength

Strength training is defined as activities that make muscles stronger, but where does that fit in with triathlon and endurance training? Great question!

As a coach, I believe strength training plays an integral role in helping athletes stay safe, healthy and improve performance as well as quality of life. I believe that strength training needs to complement goals and endurance training in a way that is manageable and designed to improve endurance, not hinder it. Strength training, when done properly, can decrease risk of injury and promote better muscle recruitment, endurance and balance.

I offer my clients three strength workouts and one recovery workout session per week. These are sent as videos on final surge in addition to their regular training.

I have been a personal trainer for over a decade and have had my American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Physiologist certification.
